Welcome Chykah Bro

What is your birth name?

Chikaodinaka. Long for Chika.

Is Chykah Bro a kind of Tomboy? How did you come about Chykah Bro?

Chikaodinaka

Chykah is a moniker from Chika. Been using it since university days. Bro was a spur of the moment kind of the decision. My posts made people think it was a guy behind the account. One day, I decided to make their wish come true. It was only supposed to be temporary but everyone fell in love with it and it stuck.

What were you like as a kid?

Mostly playful. Inquisitive and loveable. Still the same after 20+ years.

Will you say you are living the life of your dreams?

I can’t say that. Not when there is a Nigeria in the picture. But, the universe has been kind and God has been faithful.

Right now, would you regard yourself as a role model and celeb?

Lol. Let the public answer that on my behalf.

You studied Accounting and Finance at the University. How does that translate to your writing skills?

The former is a childhood career dream. The latter is a talent I discovered late. I have been doing both fine.

What is your most embarrassing moment?

Boy meets girl. Boy wants to talk to girl. Girl thinks boy is not fine. Boy tries to get girl’s attention. Girl snubs him. Boy walks up to her and tells girl there’s a red stain at the back of her dress. Girl is shocked. Girl becomes humble and thanks boy. Boy smiles.

Beside every Chykah there is a bro. Who is that bro? Tell us about the lucky guy in your life.

Lol. We are both lucky. He prefers to remain anonymous for now.

Do you have any crush on social media?

Not that I know of.

Have you had any major heartbreak in your relationships?

Nah. I’m a free bird.

So, who do you think is the messiest person you’ve ever met on Facebook?

LOL. Haba. Everyone has surpassed my expectation so far. I don’t meet a lot of people but when I do, I make sure it is worthwhile. Messiest? Are they 2 year olds in need of napkin?

You wrote a book titled ‘If Human.’ Is this like some scepticism in the humaneness of humanity? How do you describe the book?

It isn’t about that. If Human tells the story of abstract things and relates the happenings of the society from the eyes of things that humans ordinarily do not think are able to think or feel. Like the Church Rat who thinks she is the most favored Christian in a testimony because God spared her life in an accident while the others died. Or Road Accident who exposes us to the harsh reality of the ember months evilness. “All na hustle,” he said.

It was revealed in one of your Facebook posts that you had some disappointments in the reception of the book. Please give us a vivid insight of what to expect in the book.

Will that make them buy it? If you read me, you shouldn’t have a problem forming an opinion about the book. I mean, all those compliments shouldn’t go to waste unless you were lying.

Why the use of Pun in most of your articles?

Pun is life. Intelligent. Sarcastic. Humorous. And wow.

What are 3 of your most favourite lines in IfHuman?

There are no favorites. If humans frown at not being called someone’s favorite, how do you think the other guys would feel? I’m an advocate for EOE. Everything on Earth.

Should we look forward to more of this soon?

Sure. I keep surprising myself everyday.

What exactly would you like to change about your life if only you could just go back in time?

Nothing. I have the most supportive family and friends and everyone has a role to play and has played it quite well.

Where do you see yourself in five years time?

Happy. Self sufficient. Comfortable. Married. Vast. Knowledgeable. Sane. I hope Nigeria doesn’t ruin that.

You said you do not wish to change anything about your life. But won’t you wish you were born or relocated to a country where your dreams can become of more reality?

Will everyone that matters relocate too? If everyone goes away, what will be left of Nigeria?

Any advice for Nigerian youths?

Work the talk.

Would you like to be asked any question in particular?

Why interview me? I ain’t even in Forbes list yet.

Albeit, thank you for having me . 😊

Thank you for your time, Chykah.
