Kanye West Says ‘God’ Inspired Him To Interrupt Taylor Swift at 2009 MTV Video Music Awards

Celebrity Gossip And Humour

US Presidential aspirant and rapper, Kanye West has dropped a bomb shell regarding his move while Taylor Swift was receiving an award at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards. Kanye has claimed that what he did was from an instruction he received from God.

The 43-year old billionaire fashion designer and rapper ran on stage while Taylor Swift was receiving Best Female Video award for her song ‘You Belong With Me’ at the MTV Video Music Awards in 2009. Taylor Swift was just 19. Kanye however claim he believed that Beyonce should receive the award instead.

The rapper said at that time, “Yo Taylor, I’m really happy for you, I’ma let you finish, but Beyoncé had one of the best videos of all time! One of the best videos of all time!”

Kanye has recently voiced over the situation which has since caused a rift between 30-year-old Taylor and himself. He said, while speaking with Nick Cannon for an episode of his ‘Cannon’s Class’ podcast that his actions on in that event was the result of a ‘higher power giving [him] that information’.

Kanye said, “Right now, God is giving me the information … If God ain’t want me to run on stage and say Beyoncé had the best video, he wouldn’t have sat me in the front row. I would’ve been sitting in the back. It wouldn’t have made it so ridiculous of an idea because I had never heard of this person before, and Single Ladies is, like, one of the greatest videos of all time. And I was only drinking Hennessy because I didn’t want to go to the awards show because it was a set-up.”

Kanye, who is also aspiring for the Presidential seat of the United States also added that he began taking time out with the Bible after he was hospitalized for psychiatric observation in 2016, and treated for temporary psychosis. He said that God caused him to submit multiple times.

He added, “The first time that I was put into the hospital in 2016, I actually started reading the bible. That was part of what God hit me with. You know, God has a calling on all of us and he uses us in different ways.”
