Sad! South African Hip-hop artist, HHP has died

South Africa’s most versatile rapper and pioneer, Hip-Hop Pantsula (HHP) has died. He died on Wednesday, in the early hours of today.
HHP whose real name is Jabulani Tsambo aka HHP has been confirmed dead, today Wednesday, 24th October, 2018,  but with sketchy details surrounding his demise.
His traumatized wife, Lerato Sengadi, confirmed the death:
“Yes, yes it’s true. I am with the family at the moment, “
Fans and fellow artists have begun sharing their tributes to HHP on social media and expressed their utmost shock of the news.
HHP has previously been open about his struggle with depression.
A Fellow hip hop artist Da L.E.S also said in a tweet:
“Bad News for HIP HOP TODAY.”

 

Hip-Hop Pantsula (HHP), was born on 14 September 1980, and grew up in Mafikeng, Pretoria.

HHP’s successes had him release critically-acclaimed and commercially successful albums such as MaftownYBA 2 NW and Acceptance Speech.

He had Amerie, a famous American artiste, on board for the remix of Music & Lights which happen to be one of his most successful hits.

For several months now, the rapper has been said to be battling with depression and the desire to end his own life. But then, Sengadi, his wife doesn’t think it was possible to ascertain the exact cause of his death.

 

His fans on Social media have been hit by the sad news and hence expressed  shock in diverse ways.

 

AKA, a popular South African rapper friend could not hold back his shock at the news. In his words:

Two of South Africa’s HIP-HOP legends have passed away at such relatively young age, and this doesn’t seem to be going down well with South Africans.
