Washington State government appoints Nigerian, as new Judge (Photos)

One of the Nigerians making Nigeria proud, Okoloko has been appointed Judge in Washington state.

The Governor of Washington state, Jay Inslee, has appointed Edirin Okoloko, who is also a Nigerian, a Snohomish County Superior Court judge .

 

The Nigerian appointee, Edirin Okoloko, who had also bagged his Bachelor of Law from the University of Benin in Nigeria and received a law degree from the Seattle University School of Law, is to act in place of Judge George Bowden who is retiring.

Okoloko has worked for good 13 years in the Snohomish County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office. He was a Deputy Prosecuting Attorney there, working on homicide, also on sexual assault, child abuse, and elder abuse cases.

 

In his words, Jay Inslee revealed:

“Edirin has a clear dedication to the legal profession and a successful history of bringing justice to some of our state’s most vulnerable crime victims. He will be an excellent addition to the bench in Snohomish County” 

 

Edirin Okoloko has had successful prosecution of four murder trials. He has also been recognised by his office for completing a high volume of jury trials.
