Empire star, Jussie Smollett, 36 appeared in court briefly on Tuesday to determine whether or not cameras would be allowed in the courtroom during his forthcoming disorderly conduct trial.
The actor and singer had been accused of staging a homophobic attack against himself which he also reported to the Chicago Police with pretence.
Cameras have now been approved by Judge Leroy Martin Jr. for Smollett’s next court appearance on Tuesday but noted that “all bets are off” once a new judge is assigned permanently to the case.
Smollett, 36, showed up in a suit and dress coat, accompanied by his two brothers, his sister-in-law, and an assistant.
His legal team have no issues with cameras being availed in court.
His attorney ,Tina Glandian also welcomed cameras for the trial so that the public could “see the evidence, [or] the lack thereof.”
