Fright and confusion hovered the atmosphere at a Lagos Hotel just yesterday night when the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, got stuck in the hotel elevator.
The monarch was with his Prophet-wife, Olori Naomi. The couple had gone to see the Queen Moremi play staged at the venue alongside members of the monarch’s entourage when the incident occurred.
Upon arriving at the hotel lobby, they were advised to go through the lift to access the hall prepared for the stage play. Well, as soon as the monarch and entourage (which according to reports were a little more than 20) were in the elevator, the doors shut and it got stuck.
Panic rose as the monarch and his entourage remained in the elevator for about 30 minutes after it got stuck. Soon after, they were vacated from the hotel basement.
