I saw them
They visit the victims and condemn the acts
They vow to bring them down,
and budget another billion
for another fighter jet
then promise-tag to end the menace
I saw them
Run the streets with words of hope, and speak the words of justice
to live the world a luxury
and make the world a musical rhythm
They
Steal the vote of the people
write quotes for the people
buy goats for the people
loathe after the people’s
without boat of change to the people
I saw them
stand at the pulpit
preach from a buffet
dish the words of Warren Buffet
But…
Yet another day
Culprits are at it,
Our strong men fall
Wives, children are the victims
Blood streams a land that once bore hope
Friends behold lifeless lying friends
Neighbours wail o’er breathless neighbours
Here In the street they once danced in
Daddy’s daughter isn’t spared
His wife is mauled beyond recognition, Son is nowhere under the sun
Tears, tears fill the river bank
Yet another day
Politicians visit the victims
they condemn the act, they vow to bring them down.
Yet another day
We start all over.
